Description

Fortuned Trials is a collaboration between Chicago artists Zsófia Ötvös and Lidoska Guietti, with guest artist Melissa Kolbusz of WIRED jewelry. The exhibition runs from August 16 through September 5, 2024 (every Saturday and Sunday, plus six special events on specific weekdays and also by appointment). The exhibition will be held at CSI Project Space & Gallery at 1912 N. Damen Avenue, Chicago, IL 60647 in the Bucktown neighborhood. 

On August 22 from 7 - 9:00 p.m., Fortuned Trials will be hosting a Solo Show called "America – Race – Me", by Ric Walker. Ric describes this unique event below.

America – Race – Me, by Ric Walker

Both my brother and I got our DNA tests done. Upon receiving his, he declared, “I’m Mixed!” We are Black—at least that is how we were raised, though the percentages in our tests would confirm his assertion. This solo performance will investigate America’s most effective con job— Race = Identity. Through a blend of comedic characters, personal stories, cutting observations, and historical insights, this show will look at Race in America and my relationship with both. You will laugh. You will think.
