Fortuned Trials is a collaboration between Chicago artists Zsófia Ötvös and Lidoska Guietti, with guest artist Melissa Kolbusz of WIRED jewelry. The exhibition runs from August 16 through September 5, 2024 (every Saturday and Sunday, plus six special events on specific weekdays and also by appointment). The exhibition will be held at CSI Project Space & Gallery at 1912 N. Damen Avenue, Chicago, IL 60647 in the Bucktown neighborhood.
On August 20 between 4 and 8 p.m., Fortuned Trials will be hosting an event called Homage to Heritage and Birthday of Hungary
Hungarian artist and co-founder of Fortuned Trials, Zsófia Ötvös, describes this unique event below:
The 20th of August is the oldest national holiday in Hungary. Its origin roots back to the first king and state founder of Hungary, St. Stephens, who transformed the country into a European Christian country in 1000. Nowadays, it is generally considered to be the State Foundation Day of Hungary, celebrated with Fireworks.
Fortuned Trials will bring a visual and culinary taste (appetizers) of Hungary to the attendees. On this day we will also show handmade glass jewelry and tapestry by family members Dorottya Otvos and Orsolya Arato, respectively. For entertainment, Krisztinna Rab will perform Hungarian standards.
