Jordan Miller is an interdisciplinary and conceptual artist based out of Chicago. His work is situated in the nuances of our relationship to constructed light environments—inviting reflection, celebration, and criticism of the systems, structures, networks, and apparati that signify this complex relation. More broadly, Miller’s practice balances the desire for light with the need for darkness, looking to the spaces between streetlight and starlight.
Miller earned his Master of Fine Arts in Studio from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago where he had previously completed his Post-Baccalaureate Certification. He received his Bachelor of Fine Arts at the University of North Texas' College of Visual Arts and Design.
Miller is currently working to establish Garden Level Projects, a non-profit art space, and serves as the Arts & Social Media Administrator for Special Service Area #33 and the Wicker Park Bucktown Chamber of Commerce. In the past, Miller has worked at SAIC as a roving substitute for the Painting and Drawing faculty, a Writing Fellow across departments, and a teaching assistant in the department of Art History, Theory, and Criticism.
