Chris Renteria (he/him) is a seasoned film producer, cinematographer & photographer known for capturing powerful stories & Images of social and environmental challenges and inspiring advocates leading the charge.
As a producer for Magnolia Pictures’ award-winning film ”Whose Streets?”, Chris made his mark on the documentary film world, with the film premiering at the Sundance Film Festival & being nominated for several prestigious awards, including a Critic’s Choice and NAACP Image Award. His work has also been recognized as a permanent exhibit at the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures in Los Angeles.
Chris's expertise and dedication to his craft have recently led him to serve as cinematographer on the Academy Award-nominated film "St. Louis Superman," directed by Smriti Mundrah and Sami Khan for MTV Documentary Films.
A Sundance Institute Producer Lab, Documentary Film Fund and Catalyst Fellow, President of the Documentary Producers Alliance, and member of professional organizations such as IATSE ICG Local 600 and the Society of Camera Operators, Chris is a true leader in the industry.
